First Founding Members List Complete
- The first Founding Members list is to be completed within 12 months of the establishment of the Enrolment Committee. This list of successful applicants must represent at least 50% of the FNI membership registered on November 30, 2007.
- Should the list of successful applicants represent less than 50%, but greater than 40% of FNI members, the enrolment period can be extended by six months.
- If fewer than 40% of FNI’s membership are successfully enrolled, the Agreement-in-Principle will be annulled and Canada will have no further obligation to negotiate.
Spring 2010
Establishment of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation Band.
- FNI will operate as the Acting Band Council Executive for the first year until the first elections for the new Band Council are held.
