THE AGREEMENT-IN-PRINCIPLE
The Agreement-in-Principle is the legal document created by the Federation of Newfoundland Indians and the Government of Canada. The Agreement makes provisions for the official recognition of Newfoundland Mi’kmaq as Status Indians under the Indian Act and outlines the process for the formation of a landless band: the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation Band.
